The crescent of the new moon has not been sighted anywhere in the world. Therefore, we will complete 30 days of Ramadan and celebrate Eid ul Fitr on Friday.
Time and Location of Eid PrayerEid Prayer will be held in the Exposition Center at the State Fairgrounds. The gathering will begin at 7:30am. Because of rush hour traffic and parking delays, please try to arrive as early as possible. Eid prayer will be at 9:00am sharp. Eid prayer will be lead by Imam Baianonie. The Eid khutbah, "The Grassroots Effort to Spread the Light of Islam", will be delivered by Brother Aquil Roberson.
Zakaat ul FitrZakaat ul Fitr is $10 per person and must be given before the Eid Prayer. We will collect Zakaat ul Fitr during the remaining days of Ramadan and until the beginning of the prayer. Immediately after the prayer, we will collect donations for the victims of the Pakistan flood disaster.
Preparing for EidPlease bring a prayer rug with you to the Eid prayer. Jummah prayers are not obligatory for those who attend the Eid prayer. We will however offer the third shift of Jummah at the Islamic Center of Raleigh. Jummah prayers will also be held at the Islamic Center of Morrisville.
An-Noor Quran Academy is proud to announce the 2010 Ramadan Quran contest. The contest is encouraging all Muslims to learn and memorize Quran using proper rules of tajweed. Details
IAR Shura has approved An-Noor School and changed its status from pilot to permanent based on the recommendation of the evaluation team appointed by the Shura.

Al Iman school is accepting application for the Pre-K program for children ages 3 and 4 Details
Al Iman School will be launching an optional Hifz program for Al-Iman students grades 2 and up. The program will be for the entire school year beginning August 16 2010 through May 26 2011. Details
Duke University in collaboration with IAR and Al Iman School have created videos and blog posts that examines the portrayal of Islam in media.
Muslim women have an added dimension because of their hijab, they become the face of Islam. The Duke University study followed five eighth grade students from Al Iman School who decided they wanted to wear the hijab.
The Islamic Center of Morrisville is now open for all daily prayers and Jummah. We will have Taraweeh prayers at the center for Ramadan this year also. All prayer times will follow the same times as the Islamic Center of Raleigh.
